Permit help
Seattle requires a Street Use permit from the Seattle Department of Transportation if you're placing a storage container or dumpster in the public right-of-way. The permit governs placement distance from intersections, driveways and fire hydrants. Seattle Porta Pros can tell you the placement rules, but you'll submit the permit application yourself through the Seattle Services Portal. How do I know how many toilets I need?
OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) requires 1 toilet facility for 20 workers or fewer on construction sites. From 20 to 200 workers, add 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. At 200 or more, the ratio becomes 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers. Events use a looser standard: plan 1 standard porta potty per 50 to 75 guests for an 8 hour event. Call us and we'll run the math for your crew size or guest count.
What's the difference between a standard unit and a deluxe?
A standard unit has a 60 to 70 gallon tank, hand sanitizer, toilet paper and a seat. A deluxe flushable adds a flush mechanism, a sink with running water, a mirror and better lighting. Both are about 44 by 48 inches on the ground. Deluxe costs more per day but feels like a real bathroom. Pick standard for construction or outdoor events. Pick deluxe for weddings, film sets or upscale gatherings where comfort matters.
Can you deliver by Friday?
In most cases, yes. Standard rentals in Seattle book quickly but we keep units in stock for same day and next day delivery. Roll-off dumpsters and storage containers need 48 hours because the truck has to be scheduled and we check site access. Restroom trailers book 3 to 5 days out. Do you service porta potties on weekends?
Yes. We schedule service visits on weekends for longer rentals. Standard weekly rental includes one service visit; additional weekend visits cost extra. For events, we often deliver Friday and pick up Monday. Let us know your schedule and we'll build in the service days you need.
What if I need something different than what's on your list?
Call us. We rent temporary fencing, handwashing stations, holding tanks and specialized trailers that don't fit neatly into categories. We also do emergency service for burst pipes or failed septic systems. Tell us the problem and we'll find the rental that solves it.
